He is an Israeli pianist living in France. Some even referred to him as the Keith Jarrett of his generation. He began playing the piano relatively late, as a teenager, and after a few years of study he moved to Boston at 19 years to the Berklee College of Music.

Soon after, he went to live in Paris where he began recording at age 21. Their debut album was "Takes 2 to Know "(2004), a work with drummer Sylvain Ghio. He recorded his first album solo, "Variations" in 2006. Also in 2006 he played in the CD Raphaël Imbert "Newtopia Project" an elegiac Suite for classical label Zig-Zag Territoires. In 2007, Herman broke into the lists of French billboards with "The Yaron Herman Trio" with the bassist Matt Brewer and drummer Gerald Cleaver . The album features both issues originals and interpretations of contemporary pop hits like "Army of Me" by Björk, "Toxic" by Britney Spears, as well as older but still known songs such as "Message in a Bottle" by The Police and "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen. Yaron Herman played solo piano in the Artium in 2006 and in 2008 with the trio at the Jazz XXI Century.
